Hamel Seon-eo Restaurant

A friend recommended this restaurant, "Hamel Seon-eo Restaurant," when I said I was going to Dolsan, Yeosu.
It was just an 8-minute walk from the Ramada Dolsan Hotel where we were staying, so
we went there right after putting down our bags.
We actually don't know much about raw fish, but since we were in Yeosu, we thought we'd try some! So, we went in without knowing what to expect, lol.
The exterior gave off a vibe of a master!
They said they only serve "Seon-eo" (freshly caught fish) platters, so
two of us ordered a small Seon-eo platter (80,000 won).
First came the basic side dishes!
The side dishes were so delicious with various dishes like octopus skewers, shrimp, and more.
Personally, I loved the live abalone and the mantis shrimp, so I happily slurped them down.

There were so many different kinds of fish, it was fun to pick and choose what to eat.

And finally, the Seon-eo sashimi came out!
We don't know much about raw fish, but even we could see that it was fresh and looked delicious +_+
The owner told us how to eat it, and
each fish had a different dipping sauce.
The Spanish mackerel sashimi was with gochujang, one type was with ssamjang, another with a special sauce… they told us how to eat each one, and it seemed to really bring out the texture and flavor of each fish. So interesting, haha.

What's unique about this place is that
they have a special homemade sauce, and they told us to wrap it with washed fermented cabbage or dried seaweed after dipping it in the sauce,
and they made one for us to try, and it was truly delicious.
I mean, what kind of sauce is this?!
It probably had soy sauce + onion + minced garlic + chili peppers + sesame seeds + ssamjang(?) + sesame oil, etc.
It wasn't too salty, but it went really well with the fish, and the taste kept coming back to me, so I wanted to go back.
I won't forget it!

And finally, the grilled Spanish mackerel and spicy fish soup came out!
We only ordered one bowl of rice to share, but we felt like we were going to burst! Haha.

A place where you can enjoy fresh and delicious raw fish
at a great price. Highly recommended!

Promenade

After stuffing ourselves at Hamel Seon-eo Restaurant, we thought we'd take a walk, and
we wanted to see the ocean, so we walked toward the ocean, and we came across a big cafe.
It turned out to be the cafe that a colleague had recommended.
This is also near the Ramada Hotel, so it was about a 9-minute walk back to the hotel.
It's a big cafe with many floors, and they have a lot of space between tables, so
it was a place where you could relax and enjoy the ocean without feeling crowded (aka chaotic market).
It felt like a botanical garden with lots of plants, so it was very relaxing.
It has a nature-friendly interior with plants, and it's apparently classified as a botanical garden by administrative law.
They say that the entrance fee of 100 won is included in the price of the drinks.
It wasn't noisy and the atmosphere was nice.
The space is so wide, and each table has its own independent space, so
I think it would be great to come with kids.

I got to see the sunset to my heart's content. Oh, it was so pretty.

The botanical garden atmosphere right when you walk in.
I loved it so much.

Each floor is decorated with plants like this, and
the rooftop is wide, so it would be nice to go up there on a fall day like this and enjoy the ocean view.

The drinks were also good, and
the roll cake was soft and not too sweet.
Promenade is highly recommended!
