As Robert Greene says in , the fact that someone who is of low status and in a difficult position today could be in power tomorrow, and that we can forget many things in life but not the memory of being insulted, is very meaningful.

How wonderful it would be if we could only dream and receive.

Sadly, the world is not populated only by good people. I too have met people who belittle dreams. If there was a slight chill of 'Will that work?', I would have easily ignored it. But the attitude was so cold, so insistent on forcing my dream to conform to their standard, that it resembled a dictatorship.

Why should my dream conform to someone else's standards and values, when it's my dream?

I still don't understand why my opinions and dreams should be rejected simply because they don't fit someone else's values.

It's not important to me what the person intended by saying that. But this much is certain: Life is unpredictable. No one knows how someone's future will unfold, not even today. Not even the president can be sure what the future holds. He couldn't have dreamed that he would end up in prison when he was elected.

I'm sorry that the person's words hurt me, but my attention is focused on myself, not on others. I walk my own path, gazing at the rising sun for my own sake.

Everything we experience in life makes us grow and develop. Even if our dreams are belittled or we are insulted by someone, it can all be stepping stones to tomorrow.

Therefore, we must walk our own path and believe in the future we desire. Let's not forget that the difficulties we experience today can lead to success tomorrow.
